He was born in Akranes, a small town in west of Iceland in 1976. From his early teens he hung out in his parents garage, making music with his friends. Slowly envolving into recording music and other noises, on his own throughout his teens. After finishing school he started to work for theaters, with sound, lights and other jobs. Bj\u00f6rn finally studied audio engineering at SAE (School of Audio Engineering) in Glasgow in 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1020\" src=\"https:\/\/akkerifilms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/hraun-upptokur-1024x1020.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20\" srcset=\"https:\/\/akkerifilms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/hraun-upptokur-1024x1020.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/akkerifilms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/hraun-upptokur-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/akkerifilms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/hraun-upptokur-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/akkerifilms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/hraun-upptokur-768x765.jpg 768w, https:\/\/akkerifilms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/hraun-upptokur.jpg 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After studying, Bj\u00f6rn worked at R\u00daV (The Icelandic National Broadcast Company) and then for Cinema Sound ltd. in Iceland. Since 2001 he has worked in all fields of sound for film and television, be it pre-production, production, post-producion or sound design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2014 he started his own company Akkeri Films. At the moment working in the field, recording sounds and then doing the re-recording in his own theatrical mix stage in Iceland are definitely his strongholds and his main interests. Although in recent years he has done quite a bit of work abroad, mainly Denmark, Holland, Germany and Sweden. He has many good collaborators such as Heikki Kossi, Kristian Selin Eidnes Andersen, Jan Schermer, Julien Naudin, Lars Halvorsen and Fredrik Dallenfjall among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bj\u00f6rn is the sound designer for <strong>The Love That Remains <\/strong>by Hlynur P\u00e1lmason, sound designer \/ re-recording mixer for <strong>Godland<\/strong> by Hlynur P\u00e1lmason, <strong>Northern Comfort <\/strong>by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigur\u00f0sson, <strong>Beatiful Beings<\/strong> by Gu\u00f0mundur Arnar<strong> (<\/strong>Rr-mixer), <strong>Nest <\/strong>by Hlynur P\u00e1lmason. <strong>A Matter of Trust<\/strong> by Anette K. Olesen, <strong>Lille Sommerfugl<\/strong> by S\u00f6ren Kragh Jacobsen, <strong>Lamb<\/strong> by Valdimar J\u00f3hannesson<strong>, A White White Day <\/strong>by Hlynur P\u00e1lmasson (Rr-mixer)<strong>, Under the Tree<\/strong><em> <\/em>by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigur\u00f0sson, <strong>Rams<\/strong> by Gr\u00edmur H\u00e1konarson, <strong>The Last Autumn<\/strong> by Yrsa Roca Fannberg, <strong>Dreamland <\/strong>by \u00deorfinnur Gu\u00f0nason to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In between from 2004-2014 he was the supervising sound editor and main sound designer for the kids TV program <strong>LazyTown<\/strong>, produced by Nickelodeon and later Warner Brothers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bj\u00f6rn has won the Best Sound at The EDDA, Icelandic Film Awards for <strong>Rams <\/strong>in 2015,&nbsp; for<strong> Lamb<\/strong> in 2022&nbsp; and <strong>Northern Comfort <\/strong>in 2024.
